Barrett Karvis
Managing Director – Private Client Group
Barrett joined SCS Financial as part of its acquisition of Edge Capital in 2025 and is a Managing Director in the Private Client Group. Prior to joining SCS, Barrett served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Edge Capital, helping to lead and execute the firm’s overarching strategy. As a Managing Director in the Private Client Group based in Atlanta, Barrett helps oversee our relationship management teams and office operations across the Southeast and Southwest.
Previously, Barrett held leadership positions with Courtroom Connect, a professional services company that invests in technology solutions and platforms that transform the way attorneys prepare for, participate in, and learn from litigation.
A graduate of Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, he was a Captain and point guard on the men’s basketball team. Barrett earned an Executive Master in Business Administration (EMBA) from the Michael J. Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University.
A Florida native, Barrett met his wife, Heather, while attending Oglethorpe, where she was a standout on the women’s basketball team. Heather is the Assistant Head of School at Whitefield Academy in Atlanta. Barrett and Heather have two daughters, Ava and Aubry, and two Labrador sisters, Sadie and Jordan.
